GENERAL
How do I order books from The Emerald Shelf?
Under our Shop > Books tab, you can either purchase one of our special edition books that is listed in our products on our website, or you can go through our bookshop.org link at the top of the page to purchase any book you want!
Who designs the bookish products?
Some products are designed in-house by Erica and her other company Brio + Brandish. Other goods (usually accessories that come with blind dates with a book or subscription boxes) are designed by all sorts of artists, designers, and small businesses, and are purchased legitimately via wholesale. We love supporting all the small businesses!
Can I special order books from you?
Yes! You can either purchase any book you want through our bookshop.org link, or put in a personal request through our contact form for us to order something for you directly. This is a perfect option if you want to order books for a book club or event! We will also occasionally put up preorders for popular upcoming titles or special editions.
What genres do you offer?
Primarily we focus on fantasy, romantasy, romance, and teen/children genres, but we also offer other genres (like some sci-fi, literary fiction, and others) in the mobile bookshop to appeal to everyone! We also specialize in special editions - think pretty covers, sprayed edges, and more!
SHIPPING
Where is The Emerald Shelf based?
We are located about 40 minutes north of Seattle and all packages will be shipped from there! However, when we pop-up as a mobile bookstore, our physical location can be anywhere in the Pacific Northwest!
How long does shipping take?
In stock items ship on Fridays either via USPS Media Mail (for book-only orders) or via USPS Ground Advantage (for orders with non-book products or merchandise). Both of these options take roughly 7-10 days to reach you once shipped. For preorders, expect 6-8 weeks wait time before shipment, which will then follow the 7-10 day timeline. If you purchase a book from our bookshop.org link, they may use either USPS, FedEx, or UPS.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes! We love our international customers and we ship worldwide! Just note that international customers are responsible for paying any VAT or customs payments as they pertain to their own country. We also do not set the shipping costs for international orders - these are set by the USPS and other shipping couriers. We know they are astronomical and we wish we could change them, but unfortunately that is just the cost to send goods overseas.
Can I pay for express delivery?
Yes, you can select Priority Mail via USPS at checkout - this will get your package (once shipped) to you within usually 3-5 business days.
MOBILE POP-UP
How do I book a pop-up?
Please feel free to email hello@theemeraldshelf.com or fill out our contact form with information about your event, market or wedding! We are happy to put together a custom package for you to make your Emerald Shelf Experience a memorable one!
How much does it cost to book a pop-up?
This depends on your event and what you'll need! Popping up as-is at a location is generally a flat fee, but if you want the bookshop stocked with particular books or goodies for your event, there will be additional fees based on what's needed! Email us with your ideas for a more direct quote :)
Can I book a pop-up for my wedding?
YES! We would love to make your wedding extra special by popping-up at your venue! Choose specific book titles to pre-purchase beforehand to make your party favors stand out or choose blind dates with a book for a fun surprise! Contact us to plan out every last detail and for a comprehensive quote!
RETURNS
What if I want to return my items?
Due to the nature of books and or/custom merchandise, most items are generally not returnable. However, if your order comes damaged in any way, we will offer a replacement or refund to ensure you are satisfied!
